The wines are described as clean, fruit-driven, delicate, nicely-textured, and tasty.

The Chartron La Fleur 2001 and Chartron La Fleur Blanc 2000 scored 87 by the Wine Advocate.

Robert Parker’s tasting notes on the Chartron La Fleur 2001: “There are 10,000 cases of this exceptionally well-made, crisp, lively, dry white Bordeaux (a blend of 80 percent Sauvignon Blanc and 20 percent Semillon that has been barrel-fermented with lees stirring). It is medium-bodied and pure, oozing with melon-like fruit, with surprising texture. I can not think of another dry white Bordeaux this good for such a low price. Moreover, it will last for a couple of years.”

Robert Parker’s tasting notes on the Chartron La Fleur 2001: “This dry, crisp, tank-fermented blend of 80 percent Sauvignon Blanc and 20 percent Semillon reveals zesty grapefruit, melon, and fig characteristics as well as light to medium body, a good texture, and a dry finish. It is a textbook, well-made example of a dry white that shames many New World Sauvignon Blancs selling for twice the price. Enjoy it over the next year.”

History

1739

Maison Schröder & Schÿler is owned and managed by Yann Schÿler, Sophie Schÿler, and Nathalie Schÿler. The Schÿler family also owns Château Kirwan in Margaux-Cantenac.

The Schÿlers family has settled in Bordeaux since 1739, and the first mention of their trading company was dated 1789. The merchants traded wines, spices, sugar, coffee, tea, and oils throughout Europe, North America and Japan. Ships loaded with goods were returning with oak staves for barrels. Sometime later, the company became specializing in wines only.

The original brand name of Schröder & Schÿler wines was "Return from the Indies".
