Meursault-Blagny Premier Cru La Genelotte 2017 scored 94, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru La Garenne 2017 scored 93-95, and Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Hameau de Blagny 2017 scored 92-94 by the Wine Advocate.

Robert Parker comments on Meursault-Blagny Premier Cru La Genelotte 2017: “The 2017 Meursault-Blagny 1er Cru La Genelotte is showing beautifully in bottle, unwinding in the glass with aromas of white flowers, crisp green orchard fruit, citrus zest, struck match and oatmeal. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, it's tensile and chalky, concluding with a long, elegantly chalky finish”.

History

1811

Since 1996 Domaine Comtesse de Chérisey has been run by the 6th generation of winegrowers - Helen de Cherisey and Laurent Martelet. Today their daughter, Laurette Martelet, prepares to take over together with Rémi Colin.

The roots of the domaine go back to the 12th century, when the estate was ceded to the Cistercian monks of the Abbey of Maizière.

In 7 centuries, in 1811 the property was acquired by the ancestors of current winemakers.

Approach

Organic since 2020

Since 2020 Domaine Comtesse de Chérisey has been farmed according to the organic principles with certification.

The owners of Domaine Comtesse de Chérisey are very attentive to their vineyards, and make a lot of investments. For instance they installed a connected weather station which allows them to improve their interventions and reduce the carbon footprint.

All the work in the vineyard is done manually.

Recently, the winery has been renovated and extended.

In the cellar, the vinification and maturing are non-interventional, that allows to achieve a greater typicity for the wines.
