The wines of the domaine are elegant and racy with delicate pure fruit. The wines show good possibilities for ageing well.
The top wines of the domaine are: Volnay Premier Cru Les Santenots, Meursault Premier Cru Les Genevrières, Meursault Clos de la Velle. The Volnay Premier Cru Les Santenots 2015 scored 93, Meursault Premier Cru Genevrières 2015 scored 92, Meursault Clos de la Velle 2013 scored 90 by the Wine Advocate.
Robert Parker comments on the Volnay Premier Cru Les Santenots 2015: “The 2015 Volnay Premier Cru Les Santenots has a very appealing bouquet with ebullient red cherries and strawberry fruit, a hint of vanilla in the background and yet the terroir really comes through here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin. This is a more controlled and introspective Les Santenots, not as flamboyant or as precocious as say Dominique Lafon's, yet I adored the focus and the delineation towards the finish. This is superb.”
History
1989
Domaine Darviot-Perrin is managed by Pierre-Antonin Darviot. He gave up his career in the Foreign Office and joined the domaine to make the 2020 vintage.
The domaine was founded by Pierre-Antonin Darviot’s father - Didier Darviot, in 1989. He married Geneviéve Darviot, née Perrin, whose family passed on to Domaine Darviot-Perrin many of its vineyards by inheritance. Geneviève Darviot’s father, Pierre Perrin, passed his experience of winemaking and vineyards to Didier Darviot, and the domaine’s first vintage was realized through the Darviot-Perrin partnership.
