Domaine René Cacheux & Fils is a small family winery located in Vosne-Romanée, with an area of 2.26 hectares in all. The domaine’s farming is close to organic, some treatments are made for the weeds control. The current owner is Gérald Cacheux - the fourth generation of Cacheux wine producers.

Nowadays, the winery is managed by the son of René Cacheux and Jacqueline Blée - Gérald Cacheux. The domaine’s history begins with François Blée, who arrived in Vosne-Romanée in the early 20th century. François Blée was succeeded by his son Charles Blée. Nearly sixty years ago, in 1966, the holdings of Charles Blée were divided between two daughters: Jacqueline and Lucette Blée, because of their marriage with two brothers - René and Jacques Cacheux. René Cacheux and Jacqueline Blee gained their part of the family holdings and established Domaine René Cacheux-Blée. In 2004 Gérald Cacheux succeeded his parents and now he heads Domaine René Cacheux & Fils.

Domaine René Cacheux & Fils implements the organic principles by avoiding the usage of chemicals.

The grape bunch area is stripped for natural ventilation; cluster worm is fought by mate disruption and weeds are controlled by soil cultivation without herbicide treatment.

Harvesting is done by hand with immediate sorting on the vine. The grapes are totally destemmed and cooled to 4°C. After that, they are warmed up and the fermentation process starts on its own. Wine ageing lasts 18 months. 30 percent of new oak is used for the village Vosne-Romanée and 50 percent - for the premiers crus. Usually, new barrels are removed in July, after the racking. Bottling is held in the following spring.
