Domaine Guy Robin
Domaine Guy Robin is one of the fine wine producers in Chablis, Burgundy. Since the 1960s the estate has been owned by the Robins family. Today it is at the hands of Marie-Ange Robin who produces weighty, perfumed, highly complex and just an absolute joy to drink wines.
The top wines are: Domaine Guy Robin Chablis Grand Cru Valmur Vieilles Vignes Blanc, Domaine Guy Robin Chablis Grand Cru Blanchot Vieilles Vignes Blanc, and Domaine Guy Robin Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos Vieilles Vignes Blanc.

Robert Parker's tasting notes on the Domaine Guy Robin Chablis Grand Cru Valmur Vieilles Vignes Blanc 2017: "The domaine's finest wine is the 2017 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur, a powerful and brooding wine that unfurls in the glass with aromas of fresh peach, green apple, wet stones and fresh pastry. On the palate, it's full-bodied, satiny and tight-knit, with impressive depth and concentration, incisive acids and a long, mineral finish. Vine age and an ideally situated parcel likely account for its quality."
History
Domaine Guy Robin was founded in the 1960s by the parents of Marie-Ange Robin - the current owner.
Today Marie-Ange Robin develops family business and enriches the domaine's cellar with outstanding collections.
Approach
The only grape variety used in Chablis is Chardonnay. Located in the heart of the Chablis vineyard, Domaine Guy Robin is made up of the most renowned crus of the Chablis appellation: Bougros, Valmur, Blanchot, Les Clos, Vaudésir in Grands Crus and Montmains, Mont de Milieu, Montée-de-Tonnerre, Vaillons, Butteaux in Premiers Crus.
The elevage here is long and coducts in barrels.
On Burgundy Report, Marie-Ange Robin comments on 2018: "It was mad! Surprised -- agreeably surprised. We never for a moment expected such a volume as we thought we lacked rain and that the grapes were drying on the vines. We do everything by hand normally -- but given the quantity we had to arrange for some to be machine picked as we couldn't cope. Nature gave us something back in 2018 -- as it had certainly taken in the last few vintages."
