Domaine Christian Moreau Père & Fils is a family estate located in Chablis, Burgundy. 12 hectares of vineyards are farmed by winemaker Fabien Moreau according to an organic approach. The domaine has been certified organic by Ecocert since 2013.

Robert Parker comments on the Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos des Hospices 2014: “Tasted blind at the Burgfest annual tasting, Moreau's 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos des Hospices has a clean and precise bouquet with flint and chalk aromas complementing the citrus fruit. The palate is fresh and vibrant with plenty of salinity, great tension and poise. It just delivers everything that a Chablis Les Clos should, offering hints of fresh ginger and a pinch of white pepper on the finish. This is an outstanding Chablis that will give immense pleasure. I initially thought that the regular bottling of their Les Clos would be the pick of the two, but now in bottle, the Clos des Hospices seems to have decided that it should be the "guv'nor". I would still afford it another two or three years in bottle”.

Since 2001 Domaine Christian Moreau Père & Fils has been managed by Fabien Moreau, who took over his father - Christian Moreau. He stopped using pesticides, and began the official conversion into organic agriculture certified by Ecocert. In 2013 Domaine Christian Moreau Père & Fils had its first official vintage with an organic label.

The roots go back to 1814, when Jean-Joseph Moreau bought several prestigious parcels of Premier and Grands Crus and started the wine merchant company J. Moreau & Fils in Chablis. In 1904 the Moureau family purchased the parcel of Clos des Hospices from the Hospices of Chablis. Since, this parcel has been vinified separately.

For 11 years the Moreau family was living in Canada. In 1972, they came back and decided to form a 50% partnership with the Canadian group Hiram Walker. In 1985, the totality of the family shares for the wine merchant part were also transferred to Hiram Walker.

Currently, J. Moreau & Fils wine merchant business is owned by Boisset from Nuits-Saint-Georges, but the vineyards remain family property.

Since 2013 the vineyards of Domaine Christian Moreau Père & Fils have been farmed according to the organic concept with Ecocert certification.

The vineyard team takes care of the plots health by ploughing, using organic fertilisers, and avoiding the use of pesticides.

The harvest is picked and selected by hand. Then the grapes are pressed. The fermentation is carried out with natural yeasts.

Some parcels are vinified separately.
