Domaine Armelle & Jean-Michel Molin holds 7 hectares and is located in Fixin, in Côte-d'Or, Burgundy. The vineyards are farmed by Alexandre Molin, the winemaker of the domaine, according to biodynamic and organic principles. The vineyards have been certified organic by AB since 2010.

Alexandre Molin’s wines have been on the rustic side, albeit with the structure solidly covered by the fruit.

The top wines of the domaine are: Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru, Fixin Cuvée Vieilles Vignes, and Marsannay Cuvée Vieilles Vignes.

On Vivino Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru scored 4.5, Fixin Cuvée Vieilles Vignes scored 4.3 and Marsannay Cuvée Vieilles Vignes scored 4.1.

History

1987

Alexandre Molin has been the winemaker at Domaine Armelle & Jean-Michel Molin since 2004.

Armelle Molin and Jean-Michel Molin founded the domaine in 1987, a spin-off from Domaine Gelin & Molin. Alexandre Molin joined his parents in 2004. A few upgrades to the domaine have been made recently: a new cellar was built in 2014, and a new cuverie in 2020.

Domaine Armelle & Jean-Michel Molin’s vineyards is farmed according to biodynamic and organic principles. The vineyards have been certified organic by AB since 2010.

The domaine picks its harvest by machine. Alexandre Molin introduced a couple of sulphur-free cuvées vinified in earthenware ‘jars’.
