Robert Parker’s tasting notes on the Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru: “The 2009 Chambertin-Clos de Beze bursts onto the palate with a heady array of black cherries, plums, graphite, mint, liquorice and exotic spices. The fruit boasts tons of richness and depth from start to finish. This is a seriously intense Beze that will require considerable patience. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2034.”

Approach
Biodynamic, Organic without certification
Domaine Jean-Luc & Eric Burguet is managed according to organic and biodynamic approaches, without certification.
Grapes are harvested manually and are fully destemmed. The sorting is done in three stages - in the vineyard, in the cellar before destemming and the last one in the sorting table before putting in the tanks. Fermentation is done with natural yeast. Ageing lasts from 16 to 20 months in oak barrels.
The only white wine of the domaine is the one of Meursault village. Eric Burguet and Jean-Luc Burguet purchase settled must, to avoid too much skin maceration on the long ride from Meursault to Gevrey before pressing. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation occur in old oak barrels.
