Domaine Petitot

Domaine Petitot is located in Corgoloin, a community in Côtes de Nuits-Villages, Burgundy.

Current winemaker is Hervé Pepitot, he cultivates 8.5 hectares of vineyards spreaded over Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune.

Hervé Pepitot wines are attractive and suitable to drink early on. His credo is: “The vine decides, the wine-grower accompanies it".

Top wines of Domaine Petitot are: Ladoix Cuvée Vieilles Vignes, Côte de Nuits Villages Les Vignottes Cuvée Vieilles Vignes, and Savigny-lès-Beaune Pimentiers Cuvée Vieilles Vignes. On CellarTracker the Ladoix Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 2013 scored 94, the Côte de Nuits Villages Les Vignottes Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 2014 scored 90.5, and the Savigny-lès-Beaune Pimentiers Cuvée Vieilles Vignes 2017 scored 90.5.

History

In 1989 Hervé Pepitot finished viticultural school in Beaune and began his winemaking career in the family estate - Domaine Petitot. His predecessor was his father - Jean Pipitot, who developed the winery of the domaine.

During Hervé Pepitot’s reign the domaine extended with Pommard Cuvée Le Poisot and Aloxe-Corton Premier Cru Cuvée La Coutière and Savigny-les-Beaune Cuvée Les Pimentiers.

Approach

The winemaker - Hervé Pepitot, farms the vineyards with respect to the natural environment and the balance of the soil and the plant. Hoeing and ploughing are applied as friendly cultural practices.

The harvest is picked manually, and the grapes are destalked.

The wines are matured for 12 months in barrels.
