Robert Parker’s tasting notes on the Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru La Boudriotte 2011 are: “The 2011 Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Boudriottes, where Caroline cultivates cereals between rows to soak up soil moisture and encourage deeper penetration of roots, has a very refined, precise nose of great breeding. Yet it is very subtle, a nose that only speaks when spoken to. The palate is well-balanced with a crisp, mineral-rich entry. There is real vibrancy here and impressive concentration toward the spice-tinged finish. Great potential – this is one of the domaine’s finest 2011s. Drink 2014-2025.”.

History

Today Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard is run by Caroline L´Estimé, who took over from her father - Jean-Noël Gagnard. Caroline L´Estimé has 2 sons - Philippe and Nicolas, they are also keen on winegrowing and desire to join the family estate.

Caroline L´Estimé increased domaine bottling and extended the size of the holdings with some vineyards in Hautes-Côtes.

The roots of the domaine go back to Jean-Noël Gagnard’s ancestors - the Paquelin family. Charles Paquelin was making wines during the French Revolution.
