History

2014

Domaine Caroline Morey was founded in 2014 by Caroline Morey, who comes from the well-known Morey family. Though she has been working along with her father for 20 years, her winemaking style is quite different from her father - Jean-Marc Morey.

Caroline Morey’s first vintage was made just from 2.4 hectares, from Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay and Hautes Côtes de Beaune. Now, the total is 7 hectares - some are added from family holdings and some are her own purchases.

Approach

Sustainable

Domaine Caroline Morey vineyards are farmed according to a non-certified sustainable approach. The winemaker - Caroline Morey follows a non-interventional winegrowing approach.

The production of white wine: the grapes are pressed, the juice is left on the lees with no stirring.

The percentage of new wood does not exceed 20 percent.

The production of red wine: the grapes are harvested at dawn, only from 20 to 50 percent of the whole bunches are vinified. The fermentation starts naturally.

The reds are bottled before the next harvest. Fining and filtration depends on the cuvée.
