History

In 2015 Château de la Crée was sold by Nicolas and Béatrice** Ryhiner to Ken and Grace Evenstad, who also own Domaine Serene in Oregon. Ken Evenstad says that owning and farming legendary vineyards in Burgundy is a dream come true for them. Since 2017 the winemaker has been Pablo Bosch.
The roots of the domaine go back to the 15th century to Nicolas Rolin, who was the chancellor to Philippe the Good and founder of the Hospices de Beaune. Its cellars date from 1431.
In the 19th century, the château was completely rebuilt.

The wines are matured in the 16th century cellar for about 14 to 18 months in barrels.
