Domaine de l’Arlot
Domaine de l’Arlot is one of the oldest estates in Premeaux-Prissey, near Nuit-Saint-Georges. The 14 hectares are farmed by Géraldine Godot according to biodynamic principles since 2003.

Robert Parker’s tasting notes on Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru 2009: “The 2009 Romanee St. Vivant has no beginning and no end. It just exists in the glass as a monument to the greatness of Burgundy. I could describe the aromas and flavors. There is plenty of dark fruit, mocha and exotic spices, but that would be a total disservice to the wine. The Romanee St. Vivant impresses for its weightless power and massive structure. It is not a seductive, floral Romanee St. Vivant. Readers can find that elsewhere. This is a wine that impresses for its depth, structure and sheer intensity. It is very Richebourg-like in many ways. I loved it. Anticipated maturity: 2024-2044. I was blown away by Domaine de l’Arlot’s 2009s when I tasted them from a bottle. Most of the wines came in at the high end or above my projected scores from the barrel. I found a purity and frankness in these wines that was compelling”.
History
1987
Géraldine Godot succeeded Jacque Devagues in 2013. The roots of Domaine de l’Arlot go back to 1987, when AXA Millésimes together with Jean-Pierre de Smet, bought Domaine Jules Belin in Premeaux. In 2006 Jean-Pierre de Smet retired, but handed over his winemaking to Olivier Leriche. Since 2006 AXA Millésimes has been the only owner of Domaine de l’Arlot. Olivier Leriche was succeeded by Jacques Devauges in 2011.
The original property consisted of three monopoles: Clos du Chapeau in Comblanchien, Clos de l’Arlot, and Clos des Forêts Saint-Georges. In 1991 Domaine de l’Arlot was extended with a part of Romanée-Saint-Vivant, and in 1992 with some hectares in Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots.

Biodynamic since 2003
The work in the vineyard follows biodynamic principles since 2003. No herbicides are used. The Domaine de l'Arlot prefers little interference in vinification, and average use of oak.**
