Domaine Laurent Cognard is a family estate located in Buxy, Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy. The vineyards cover 18 hectares of vines. The domaine has been certified sustainable by Terra Vitis since 2020. Today the wines are produced by Laurent Cognard. He makes adorable fruit-filled wines.

Robert Parker’s tasting notes on the Montagny Premier Cru Clos du Vieux Château 2017 are: “The 2017 Montagny Premier Cru Clos du Vieux Château is very good, offering up aromas of musky peach, mandarin oil, white flowers and pear, followed by a medium to full-bodied palate with a glossy attack, excellent tension at the core and a fragrant, delicately chalky finish. This is the most serious and structured of Cognard's Montagny bottlings, derived from a 0.5-hectare limestone plateau.”.

The roots of Domaine Laurent Cognard go back to 1997 when Laurent Cognard bought his first vines. In 2006 the domaine vineyards covered 5.5 hectares. In 2019 Laurent Cognard inherited the grandparents’ vineyards in the three Pouillys: Loché, Vinzelles, and Fuissé.

Domaine Laurent Cognard has been certified sustainable by Terra Vitis since 2020.

The wines of the estate are vinified and raised in 500-litre barrels. The bottling process before the next harvest. The maturation barrels contain a small percentage of new wood.
