Except premiers crus, Jean-Michel Drouin produces also village wines like Pouilly-Fuissé Cuvée Jacques Charvet and Pouilly-Fuissé Champs Roux. The Pouilly-Fuissé Cuvée Jacques Charvet 2011 scored 93, and the Pouilly-Fuissé Champs Roux 2011 scored 91 by the Wine Advocate.
Robert Parker’s tasting notes on the Pouilly-Fuissé Cuvée Jacques Charvet 2011 are: “The 2011 Pouilly-Fuisse Cuvée Jacques Charvet comes from three parcels of exceptionally old vines between 80 and 100 years, cropped at just 16 hectoliters per hectare. It is named after the great-grandfather who founded the domaine back in 1897. Raised in new oak over 12 months, it has an understated nose that expands in the glass: honeysuckle, jasmine and apricot blossom all emerging with time. The oak is very well-integrated and barely noticeable again. The palate is medium-bodied with fine acidity, delicate spicy notes, quince and a touch of ginger furnishing the finish that displays very good weight and persistency in the mouth. There is a sense of confidence in this wine that suggests that it will age with style. Excellent. Drink now-2022…”.

Approach
Biodynamic
Domaine des Gerbeaux vineyards are farmed according to the biodynamic approach, without a certificate. The grapes are hand-harvested and lightly pressed. The fermentation is carried out at low-temperature.
The percentage of new wood varies from the cuvée, in particular, new oak for cuvée Jacques Charvet and premier cru Pouilly.
