Domaine Georges Glantenay is situated in picturesque Volnay, Burgundy. The winemaker of the domaine is Guillaume Glantenay, he uses a sustainable approach, but without organic certification. All the 8 hectares of domaine’s vineyards are cultivated with great respect for the terroir.

The wines of the domaine can be characterized as elegant, flavored, smooth and balanced.

Starting from 2014 Domaine Georges Glantenay is run by Guillaume Glantenay, who, with his sister Sarah Glantenay manage the family estate. Guillaume Glantenay and Sarah Glantenay are the sixth generation of the family.

The year of the foundation of the domaine is considered to be 1893 when the estate of Pierre Glantenay was divided. His son, George Glantenay was the first representative of the family to start bottling the domaine’s wines.

The vineyards of the Domaine Georges Glantenay are farmed by Guillaume Glantenay with a sustainable approach, but without organic certification. To restrain the yields, in warm times, de-leafing and hedging can be conducted, both in height and width.

Harvesting is made by hand. After sorting on the vibrating table, the grapes are destemmed and given the cool pre-fermentation maceration. After fermentation, cool maceration is repeated.

Ageing is conducted in French oak barrels for 10 to 18 months depending on the appellation. New wood also depends on the appellation - it is 20 percent for village wines and 30 percent for the premiers crus.
