Robert Parker’s tasting notes on the Château La Tour de By Médoc 2014: “The 2014 La Tour de By has a satisfactory graphite-tinged bouquet that is conservative and tightly wound, but opens nicely in the glass. The palate displays good body and fruit concentration on the entry, plenty of spicy black fruit laced with graphite, with impressive energy on the finish. This La Tour de By has turned out nicely and should drink well for 8 to 10 years.”

Approach
Château La Tour de By’s vineyards have been farmed organically and certified sustainable level 3 by HVE. The vineyards are planted with 35 percent Merlot, 60 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5 percent Petit Verdot at a density from 7,500 to 10,00 vines per hectare. The average age of vines is 48 years. 85 percent of the grapes are used for Château La Tour de By Médoc and 15 percent are used for Les Tourterelles de La Tour de By (2nd wine).
In the cellars, thermo-regulated wooden and stainless steel vats are used, which allows vatting to last from 3 to 5 weeks, including alcoholic fermentation.
Ageing is conducted for 12 months, in stave oak barrels, with 30 percent new wood.
