The Pouilly-Fuissé Le Haut de Crays 2017 scored 93+, the Pouilly-Fuissé Clos Sur la Roche 2019 scored 93, and the Pouilly-Fuissé Cuvée Ampelopsis 2018 scored 93 by the Wine Advocate.

Robert Parker’s tasting notes on the Pouilly-Fuissé Le Haut de Crays 2017: “The 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé Le Haut de Crays is also superb, exhibiting a lovely bouquet of green orchard fruit, citrus confit, orange blossom and warm bread, followed by a full-bodied, layered and enveloping palate with a satiny attack, superb depth, concentration at the core and a long, penetrating finish.”

Approach

Biodynamic since 2005

The vineyards of Domaine Saumaize-Michelin are farmed following biodynamic principles starting from 2005.

Roger Saumaize-Michelin controls the yields and does a lot of manual work in the vineyards. The parcels have been vinified separately since 1985.

The fermentation takes place in barrels. The wines are matured for 11 months on the lees before bottling with a light fining but no filtration.
