The wines of the domaine are known for being depth and light of flavour.

Top wines of Maison Thiriet are: Côte de Nuits-Villages Les Retraits, Côte de Nuits-Villages Les Vignottes, and Volnay Les Grands Champs. The Côte de Nuits-Villages Les Retraits 2019 scored 91, the Côte de Nuits-Villages Les Vignottes 2019 scored 90+, and the Volnay Les Grands Champs 2019 scored 90+ by the Wine Advocate.

Robert Parker’s tasting notes on the Côte de Nuits-Villages Les Retraits 2019 are: “I have a particular weakness for Thiriet's 2019 Côte de Nuits-Villages Les Retraits, a beautiful wine that soars from the glass with aromas of sweet berries, spices, orange peel, burnt sage and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, lively and fine-boned, with melting tannins and a long, saline finish, it's already hard to resist”.

History

2016

Maison Thiriet was founded in 2016 by Camille Thiriet. Before setting up the maison, Camille Thiriet gained experience at Domaine de Bellene, where she was responsible for sales.

Approach

Organic

Maison Thiriet vineyards are farmed according to the organic principles, without certificate.

Particular attention is given to sorting the harvest, which often takes a lot of time. Their vinification is done very gently, with a lot of infusion, light pumping over and some punching down. The wines are fermented with natural yeasts, minimal sulphur intakes are added before bottling.

Maison Thiriet credo is: “To make good wine, you need good grapes!”.
